Bhagalpur silk is essence of nature and know as the " Queen of all fabrics"

Silk is made more in cities like Banaras, Karnataka, but the texture and strength of silk in Bhagalpur is not seen in any other silk.

Nature has Given 4 Types of Silk :

• Tussar
• Mulberry
• Eri
• Muga 

However, the production of Muga is low. And its cocoon is available only in Assam and its price is also high.

But this is also less in comparison with Tussar and production of Tussar is done in Bhagalpur, Jharkhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh.

But no silk can compete with Bhagalpur tussur, there is a lump in tussur, a kind of gum remains which is not present in other silks, so nothing happens to Bhagalpuri cloth for a long time.
